LITERARY DEATH MATCH @ CLUB OBERON

CL_LiteraryDeathMatch

Four writers on the rise (Bob Shea, Lizzie Stark, Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich, Ken Calhoun) enter. Three judges (Tom Perrotta, Joe Piccirillo, Nika Luparelli) … also enter. As do the audience. What they’re entering is Oberon, by the way. Fiction is read. Decisions are made. People are eliminated, in the sense that someone makes a pithy quip at them and they don’t go to the next round for some arbitrary reason.

Passive voice is decried, or possibly used for “comedic” effect.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome is referenced for too long. It … is … Literary Deathmatch! And. It’s. Mostly. Non-lethal.
