Did you know that the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day parade is the second largest parade in the country? Pretty amazing, no? The annual event is hosted by the Allied War Veteran’s Council and will obviously draw quite the crowd, so stake out your spot early. And don’t even think of whining about how “boring” parades are. There’s music! There’s dancing! There’s probably going to be bagpipes! Plus it’s outside, and we’re all a little Vitamin D deprived by now. There you have it. Parades: they’re good for your health.
[Sun 3.17.13. Parade starts at W. Broadway and Dorchester Ave. 1pm/all ages/free. @OurGreatBoston. southbostonparade.org]
