DEFEND YOURSELF: ALLEN MCRAE

DY_AllenMcRae

Allen McRae is a founding member of sketch group Duct Tape Revolution, who’ll be performing as part of ImprovBoston‘s Best of Boston Sketch this month.

Fans of rollerblading, meet your new best friend.

How did Duct Tape Revolution come into being?
[Director] Kevin [Quigley] and I then worked together on a show called World of Hurt and decided to form a permanent sketch group together, with myself as head writer.

We then scoured the earth to

find the right blend of ne’er-do-wells, scumbags, bitter alcoholics, toothless ex-cons and tragic, gimlet-eyed no-hopers to form our team.

And then we asked some hilarious comedians we know if they wanted to be in our sketch group.

Your Facebook has some really “great” “celebrity quotes” about your group. Off the top of your head, can you tell me what some others have said about you?
“Oh my god, your hilarious jokes make me soooo hot …” –Misty at 1-900-SEXYGRL

“Yo!  You guys can stop looking, they’re here.” –God

“Oh my god, your hilarious jokes make me soooo hot …” –Hilary Clinton

Is there any subject you guys won’t touch?
Well, we are kind of sensitive about our love of rollerblading. I know that it might seem silly or cheesy to some people, but

rollerblading is the first thing our group really bonded over, so we are kind of protective of it.

Don’t really like to even talk about it.

I mean, fair enough. But what’s the hardest thing about rollerblading?

… you best start running, hombre.
