Remember in November of 2012 when Honest Pint recommended Kendall Square’s Area Four for all your pizza and craft beer needs? And when, as part of our All Decked Out guide to patios in June, we ran a photo of three extremely attractive people playing a game of bocce at the very same part-café, part-bar/oven?
Now you do.
With a menu boasting a variety of meals and drinks to get you through even the toughest of Mondays, whether it be in the dead of winter or peak of summer, there’s no question why Area Four has gained some hardcore fans, including the entire Dig staff.
As if launching a food truck with ingredients “too fresh to be true” wasn’t enough, Area Four’s Michael Leviton, Michael Krupp, and Jeff Pond
have now expanded their reign to Union Square with your soon-to-be favorite casual dining spot, A4 Pizza, which opened today.
Stacked with a custom-built, wood-burning oven to fire up drool-inducing pizzas made with local and sustainable ingredients, A4’s also pimped out with an interior that’s decorated to match your wildest dreams, and a small outside patio.
Take that and their straightforward attitude alongside the bar lying under strung construction lights and framed records, and count us there once the work day ends—if we can make it that long.
Stop by between 11pm and 1am nightly for half-price cold slices. Look for us there.
We’ll be the ones crossing our fingers for a slice with basil walnut pesto and goat cheese.
