Sesame Street‘s Cookie Monster wants it, but he’ll wait. A recent parody of Icona Pop‘s hit “I Love It” has been released, titled “Me Want It (But Me Wait)” by the children’s show, to talk to kids about exercising self-control. Because kids in America are fat.
“Cookie Monster, the poster-child for someone needing to master self-regulation skills, attempts to explain these concepts while devising personal strategies on waiting to eat a cookie.”
I actually think Sesame Street is trying to break the news that Cookie Monster is an alcoholic or maybe a sex addict.
Maybe he’s still a little too overexcited from when Katy Perry stopped by.
There are so many other things we should be teaching kids than to put off eating sweets.
How about grammar? Me Want It (But Me Wait)? I rather my kid be able to speak the English language than not be eating cookies. How about playing sports so they can eat as many damn cookies as they want. Or maybe not to bring puppets to a nightclub? That could spiral to a weird, dark place for a kid real quick.
I’m protesting. I vote dessert first.
Let them eat cookies!
