Seth MacFarlane and co. have spread themselves thin in the years since Family Guy was rescued from obscurity by an army of pot-smoking dorm-dwellers. On top of the baffling continuance of American Dad, there was another ill-advised spin-off in The Cleveland Show and most recently, Family Guy characters waxing political on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher.

The more they take on, the fewer quality jokes they seem to have left over for the franchise that started it all. What’s so great about these Star Wars spoofs is that the FG writers have had three decades to think of ways to poke fun at the iconic trilogy, so there’s little need for the hot air used to inflate recent FG episodes. With gags on pillow-fighting stormtroopers and cannibal ewoks at their disposal, why waste time crooning Dean Martin parodies or writing doomed attempts at “serious” storylines around characters who are really only there to segue into the next ’80s toy commercial reference?

Your brother needs this. And you need to borrow it.
