In case we haven’t mentioned it before (we have), we’d like to reiterate that the students and alumni of the Upright Citizens Brigade are the main driving force in comedy these days. And rather than trying (and failing) to back that massive claim up with something other than opinion and bombast, we’re just going to ask that you catch the UCB parody Freak Dance at the Brattle tonight. The film spoofs dance movie “classics” like Bring It On and Step Up, and features Brigade regulars Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, Amy Poehler and—shit. Did we just accidentally prove our point?
