CELINE AND JULIE GO BOATING @ THE BRATTLE

CL_CelineAndJulieGoBoating

A film the Brattle touts as having “memory-inducing candy,” a “possibly haunted house” and a “magician of sorts” is likely one of those “nothing as it seems” joints, and in Celine and Julie Go Boating everything already “seems” balls crazy. Our dual heroines fall upon a love triangle between two women and a widower who said he’d never remarry while his daughter was still alive (that “alive” bit sounds important). Suffice it to say, there’s intrigue … of a sort, an escape … of a fashion, and murderous intents … kinda sorta maybe. We’re rolling with a loose interpretation of “suffice” here.
