This movie follows the incredible story of a fan made president of the fan club of a band you’ve probably never heard about (The Beatles).
Freda nabs the job of a lifetime as the Fab Four’s secretary.
She’s privy to any secret going-on’s (trysts!) and becomes responsible for connecting with the band’s families to keep them in touch while on tour and, not to mention keep track of mountains of fan mail that asked Paul, John, George, and Ringo for clips of their hair.
It’s all very 60s gender politics, but Freda’s a strong woman who handled scandals and special announcements with a calm demeanor that is sorely missed the heap of hype that defines pop.
It seems like she was the perfect fit for a new generation who would redefine the term “fandom.”
But the documentary is not without its somber moments: she is one of the few remaining members of the Beatles’ inner circle.
