DIG THIS: ARLO GUTHRIE

Arlo Guthrie has the distinction of being one of the few artists to ever write what can be loosely described as a “Thanksgiving song.” ‘Course, the man also played at Woodstock, has an extensive musical catalog, acts and stays politically active. But sure, go ahead, play that cute “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree” again. Isn’t that neat? What with the talking and the blues and the satire of modern bureaucracy and what-not. Guess what that song is about? Viet-frigging-NAM, man. And gravy. But mostly Vietnam.
