REPORTING LIVE: BOUNCING SOULS AT HOUSE OF BLUES

Souls_2012

Last weekend, the Bouncing Souls paid us a visit in Boston at the House of Blues. After last year’s string of dates at The MidEast Club, the band acknowledged a larger space feeling mammoth. Bryan, the bass player, often referred to it as, “punks breaking into a mansion to party.” With the stage set in a surrounding of flickering tv screens to resemble the textures of their new album “Comet” and specifically tracks like “Static,”

they whipped the crowd into shape quickly with one of their anthems, “Here We Go.”

They covered a bit of everything during their set, keeping the audience hankering for more. With the crowd able to hang out right up to the stage, it made getting clean photos tricky (sorry), but it put a little extra pep in the crowd. Especially once the first dude jumped up on stage for his moment of glory. From that point on, every fan was hopping up to have their try at it. Some were sloppy, some were awkward rookies, but it added to that “punks in a mansion” feel with everyone enjoying themselves. The Souls embraced the chaos, even when overly eager fans tried to snatch the mic or do the worm exposing plumber’s pants. Those gents are a class-act, and they’re always welcome in Boston. ECFU!
