SPOTLIGHT: Robert W McElaney, Creative Director at Ctrl Alt Design, is a genius. He’s doing most of the graphic design for Together. And this Wednesday, he totally blew our minds with the release of these Together Facebook Timeline Covers (part of one pictured above). Seriously though, does anyone have some 409? Because my desk is covered in pieces of my brain. … what’s that? Bobby already made them into a new Facebook cover design? JESUS CHRIST.

NEW LINE-UP ANNOUNCEMENTS
CRYSTAL CASTLES @ HOUSE OF BLUES 5/13 | BY BEN GRAY
Are you ready for Demon Maiden Alice Glass and friends on Monday, May 13th? Last time we saw this purple-haired, goth songstress, she threw herself into the crowd at Camp Bisco after chugging a bottle of Jack Daniels on stage. We’re ridiculously excited that Pictureplane is opening as well. Read the full artist profile by Ben Gray here (and you may as well shriek it in some sort of haunted, devilish voice, to get into the mood…)
GOLD PANDA @ BRIGHTON MUSIC HALL 5/18 | BY BEN GRAY
Damn, what with this piss poor economy, trips to India and China are out of our price range. *sad face* But WAIT: what if music is once again the answer? What if music can take you these places, for free, and can fly you to Neverland “at the pace of a glimmering cartoon faerie?” Listen to Gold Panda‘s music and you can fly, you can fly, you can FLY. Just ask Ben Gray; he said so in this artist profile. Aha! And Voices of Black return this year to open with him on Saturday night of the festival.
ELEMENTS PRESENTS: WILKINSON @ PHOENIX LANDING 5/16 | BY LAUREN METTER
Yeah, we sent our stuff to Ram Records once. We haven’t heard back. Wilkinson did the same thing a couple months after getting releases out on the infamous Hospital Records--he sent a folder of tunes to Ram and heard back WITHIN DAYS. And they offered to sign him on. Now he’s touring world-wide, charming the sweat out of drum and bass fans everywhere… and this includes a stop at Together Fest for Elements on Thursday, May 16. Read the Dig exclusive here.
ONEOHTRIX POINT NEVER & NATE BOYCE @ THE ICA 3/29 | BY NOEL GUTIERREZ
Oneohtrix Point Never, the nearly-IMPOSSIBLE-to-spell-without-double-checking Boston-born producer is back for the second year in a row at Together--this time at the Institute of Contemporary Art. Why? Because his music is magic, like a maze for your brain. We’re talking extension of perception. AKA art. Perfectly paired with visual art by Nate Boyce, who takes historical sculptures and Makes them New, with the help of our good friend, technology. Read a lot more by Noel Gutierrez here.

We know Kendrick Lamar drinks after pretty much everything, but what about if I’m listening to Tiga? What if I’m listening to Tiga’s remix of Duke Dumont’s “The Giver”? Drinkify is a new app that would suggest a drink for me based on what I’m listening to, and it will do it for you, too. Please let it be more interesting than a Gin & Tonic. In other news, Brian Correia explains Music Hack Day better than we ever could right here. “What, music and technology are related?! That’s BONKERZ.” -every newspaper that has gone under.
