IN THE TUBES: 17,565 BRUINS FANS SING NATIONAL ANTHEM AT TD GARDEN 4.17.13

ICYMI: On Wednesday, April 17, TD Garden was packed for the Bruins-Sabres game.

As usual, the announcer asked that fans “please join together and sing loudly with Rene Rancourt as he sings tonight’s National Anthem.”

But last night, the nearly 18,000 Bruins fans packed into the stadium belted it out so genuinely that 10 seconds in, Rancourt turned off the mic and let the fans take over. What followed is enough to give you chills and leave you speechless, a tangible and contagious feeling of togetherness, and yet another display of how resilient we are as the City of Boston.

“It made you feel proud of this city again, of our fans, of this solidarity we’ve shown through this whole thing.”
-Claude Julien

“What the fans did tonight, the way everyone came together, it’s not something that you can let go of. It’s going to continue to build. Everyone’s going to keep getting stronger and continue to unite, and fight through this.”
-Brad Marchand #63

“It was great to see everyone rallying around each other, which doesn’t surprise you in this city.”
-Shawn Thornton #22
