POLL GLANCING: BACK BAY/SOUTH END

franklin

POLLING PLACE: FRANKLIN INSTITUTE OF BOSTON – 41 BERKELEY STREET

WARD, PRECINCT: 5, 1
NEIGHBORHOOD: Back Bay / South End
TIME: 4:04pm
VOTES CAST: 794
SIGNAGE WINNER: Lots of cardboard for lots of candidates, but this time the winner is restaurateur and City Council-At-Large hopeful Philip Frattaroli, whose sign looks like it belongs on the facade of a slick pizzeria.
WHAT WE SAW: Ward 5 Democratic Committee handouts featuring pics and bios of City Council-At-Large candidates Michelle Wu and Ayanna Pressley; sign holders standing as far away from the polls as they’re supposed to be (as opposed to in Dorchester this morning, but you didn’t hear that from us); remnants of when the placard party was right in front of the precinct earlier today.
WHAT WE DIDN’T SEE: A line wrapping all the way around two corners toward Chinatown like it did during the last presidential election.

WTF?: Goddamn boozebags across the street hollering at volunteers. We thought they only did that to us on our walk to the Dig every day.
