POLL GLANCING: BEACON HILL

state house

POLLING PLACE: MASSACHUSETTS STATE HOUSE

WARD, PRECINCT: 5, 3
NEIGHBORHOOD: Beacon Hill
TIME: 1:07pm
VOTES CAST: 254
SIGNAGE WINNER: As the only candidate with an actual person holding a sign, you might say Walsh has slight edge. Also to note: discarded Conley and Golar Richie signs on the sidewalk.
WHAT WE SAW: A lot of activity for such a slow polling place; bunch of State House employees who probably don’t even live in the damn city.
WHAT WE DIDN’T SEE: Any hope for much voting to proliferate in the cavernous echo chamber they use for voting here, which makes the low turnout seem all that much more dismal.

WTF?: We’re guessing this is the only polling place in Boston that requires voters to pass through a metal detector.
