POLL GLANCING: SOUTH BOSTON: CONDON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

condon

POLLING PLACE: JAMES F. CONDON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – 200 D STREET

WARD, PRECINCT: 6, 1 & 2 & 3
NEIGHBORHOOD: South Boston
TIME: 8:42am
TOTAL VOTES CAST: 471
SIGNAGE WINNER: There are lots of poles with signs stacked on top of one another in a competition to see whose reaches higher -

like kids racing one hand over another to the butt of a stickball bat to see who pitches first.

WHAT WE SAW: Kids pouring into school. Suzanne Lee shaking hands. Councilor-At-Large Steve Murphy eating what appeared to be a danish. The Walsh hospitality van showing up with an absolute arsenal of grub and coffee.
WHAT WE DIDN’T SEE: Much of a Connolly presence at all. Unless you count the students, all of whom are presumably voting for the councilor this morning.
WTF?: It’s more or less a party out here. We’re just not very used to this.
