FOTOBOM: PRIDE FESTIVAL

‘Cause we all have something to be proud of.

The Pride Festival, just a teeny little celebratory slice of the Boston Pride Week 2012 extravaganza, took place at City Hall Plaza on Saturday, as the final destination of the Pride Parade. The event featured Pride musical performances, Pride-themed merch, a Pride “Artisan Avenue,” and Pride food. Normally I would attempt to make a quip about overkill of the word “pride,”

but if you think about it, there really is no such thing.

It doesn’t matter whether you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, straight, old, young, or which color of the rainbow you come in, everyone has at least one or two somethings to be proud of. And Pride week and its festival just give us all the more reason to sing, dance, and shout it until all of the naysayers are forced to crawl back into the dirt holes they came out of.
