A play … based on a book … focused on another play… ugh. We’re not doing this again. Anthony Rapp—of Dazed and Confused, A Beautiful Mind and, most famously, Rent—wrote a memoir dealing with his work on Jonathan Larson’s post-modern La bohème, a time where the actor dealt with the deaths of both Larson and his own mother. Without You, at Suffolk’s Modern Theatre tonight, is the one-man musical based on the memoir themed around the other play and performed by Rapp. There. Simple. Wait, what’s Leo DeCaprio doing here unless, oh no… but they said Rent-ception was impossible…
