DATE NIGHT: CORIOLANUS

shakespeare_boston_common-300x225

Shakespeare on the Common! A perfect excuse for you and your boo to get cozy under the stars, and take in some theatah while you’re at it. This summer’s production is the extremely poignant Coriolanus and it should be an awesome show.

If you have the means of a Roman nobleperson, you can reserve seats for around $30 a pop, but if not you can go peasant style and bring a blanket or some beach chairs and set up shop for $0.

If you go this route, it would be a good idea to get there a few hours early to make sure you’re at Shakespeare on the Common and not just at the Common.

Now, unlike Coriolanus, I’m a strong believer that be you and your date generals or plebeians, everyone deserves grain! Especially if there’s a burger, lettuce, tomato, fried jalapeños, guacamole, and bacon between two slices of it (and fries on the side). If you agree, then head over to the Park Street UBurger not five minutes away from the Parkman Bandstand, and craft your own perfect burger. Oh, and after reading this write up of the performance I got a wicked hankering for a milkshake (I can’t imagine why), so throw a mocha frappe in there as well. Bag it up, bring it back to your spot, and enjoy the show!

After the final bow head over to Silvertone, another five minute walk away, for a drink (or two). If you need any suggestions for what to order at this funky Boston favorite, just ask Lauren. She knows.

And if you need suggestions for what to call any rude people you may encounter throughout your evening, there’s an app for that.
