Sure, there are plenty of community festivals happening these oh-so-halcyon summer days. And while Jamaica Plain and Allston (and the South End … and Roxbury … and Cambridge…) can cobble together an adequate parade or block party, only a joint like Somerville could pull off the kind of mass participation and tight theming (variations on “Migration,” this year) that mark this annual fest of all things crafted and innovative. Some people in Somerville? Try close to all the people in Somerville. So … Allerville? That’s where we were going with this, right?
