BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL: *18+ THINGS TO DO IN BOSTON

RISE
Aren’t you lucky that the only thing open in Boston after-hours happens to be an 18+ venue? Fridays and Saturdays at RISE frequently host buzzed-about international DJs in an environment that ensures no one will vom on your dancin’ shoes. Because why spoil that rite of passage before its time?

[Fridays and Saturdays. 306 Stuart Street, Boston. 1am-6am/18+/prices vary. @RISEnightclub. riseclub.us)

MIDDLE EAST DOWNSTAIRS
The ratio of 21+ to 18+ concerts in Boston is staggering. The one place this isn’t true? Middle East downstairs. (Which is actually in Cambridge so feel free to continue bitching about that Boston thing.) A huge percentage of their calendar for the fall accommodates 18+. Also, how fun is it to get into a cab and say, “Take me to the Middle East?” Never gets old!

GLOW BOSTON

Don’t ever say there’s nowhere for you to dance in Boston, little ones. Glow puts on 18+ shows so good 21+ people attend them, and their first event of the fall, Illumina, is this month. No age segregation. Just EDM.

[Glow Boston Presents Illumina @ House of Blues. Fri 9.21.12. 15 Landsdowne St., Boston. 7pm/18+/$20 adv, $25 dos. @HOBBoston. glowboston.com]

PARTIES AT THE DIG!
Keep a lookout this fall for get-togethers hosted by yours truly. We’ll take care of you when the rest of Boston is too hyphy to even take care of itself.
