Oh man, oh man. It’s a new year, we’re rested from vacation, and the drugs from NYE have almost completely left our systems. Guys, this year we are going to FUCKING KILL IT.
On a related note, don’t you love that week in the beginning of the year when you have all that optimism for the future, unspoiled by the harsh realities of winter in Boston and your own lack of impulse control?
Well, don’t fret too hard about the fact that you’re lying to yourself about your resolution to quit smoking/get in shape/be a good person, because we’re planning a bunch of things to distract you from your failures.
Why, just this week we’re hosting a party at aptly-named Somerville joint, the Rosebud, to celebrate the completion of Associate Film Editor Kris Jenson’s two year-long AFI Top 100 Project with a viewing of Citizen Kane.
Come submerse yourself in rich culture, dress in typical ’40s garb, try your luck with some fabulous prizes, and drink copious amounts of alcohol.
Oh, and hang out with us. Obviously.
Because you might as well start the year right, since there’s no way you’re actually going to the gym. Stop kidding yourself and those around you. You look great.
Happy New Year, friends.
[AFI Top 100 Citizen Kane Viewing Party. Sat 1.5.13. The Rosebud. 381 Summer St., Somerville. 8pm/21+/free. RSVP via our FACEBOOK EVENT.]
