The first time I walked into this tiny little pub, I knew I had found a home away from home. Little did I know at the time, I also found my very first advertiser for my soon to be created Shovel Magazine (which eventually became the Weekly Dig).

At the time, Robert Elliot was the owner and the man pouring my Guinness most nights. I’d stop in after work for a few beers and never missed a Hybrasil show, still one of the best bands to ever come out of Boston, in my opinion. The real experience however was listening to Robert talk about the local music scene and the cast of characters who came through the bar doors.

When I finally told Robert about my magazine, he didn’t even flinch before asking me how much it was for a full page. Before I knew it, I had a $100 check in my hand and the rest, as they say, was history …
