The concept behind the Mortified: Doomed Valentine’s Day show at the Coolidge Corner Theatre is simple: everyone’ feels like a total loser times, usually while trying to chat up some lovely so-and-so. Those moments? Heartbreaking. Those stories? Friggin’ hilarious. So why not share them to a crowd full of people? Missed connections, mishandled connections, mishandled “connections,” if you catch our scare quotes—no topic is off-limits. By the way, did we ever tell you about that one time we went to a slam-poetry contest literally dressed like a giant dick, ’cause we thought it would impress another alt-weekly calendar writer?
