DEAR READER: PRIDE QUICKIE

gaypat2

Seeing as we’re already smack-dab in the middle of Pride and we all got block parties to be at, I’ll be brief.

Pride’s important.

It’s important to me, personally, because it’s such an integral part of my experience first moving here and helped me reach the potential in finally being a (drunk, sequin-strewn) adult. It’s important to Boston, because it fortifies our sometimes-embattled reputation as the City on a Hill, a place that is Doing it Right, so other places, take notes.

And most of all, it’s important because it’s fun. There’s a whole lot of un-fun looming on the horizon, and some hard-fought victories haven’t even seen their hardest fighting yet. And Pride, just being being afucking blast, separates our often-grayscale planet into the people who are awesome to hang out with and the people who are not.

I know what side I want to be on.

See you at Machine!
