Welsh singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon—coming to T.T. the Bear’s Place tonight—takes the dissonant auditory-askew of Nico and combines it with a darker, more personal sensibility.
That sensibility being “the emotional scars associated with having to bury an ass-ton of pets that up and died on her when she a was a tot.”
This motif bleeds into her videos, like the one with the cardboard raccoon-octopus hybrid (which she … birthed?) attacking her in the woods. The one we watched before writing this. You know, back when we were still all “happy” and “capable of sleep.”
