GENRE | METALCOARRRRGGHH!!!
VERDICT | SHOULD KILL AT THE PALLADIUM
LABEL | SELF-RELEASE
RELEASE | 7.24.11
Metalcore is what happens when the soaring guitarmonies of Maiden and Priest are dragged into a septic death metal underworld. I’ll let you decide whether Acaro’s maiden bears such “even-this-ugly-place-can’t-touch-her,” resilience. But let’s face it: most of you metaleros could give a shit. You just want exactly what The Disease delivers: a maelstrom of seven-string razors and warp-speed rhythms with enough melody to thwart any temptation to say: “Fuck it! I’ll just save my money and fire up the lawnmower.”
Beyond the riffs that range from Morbid Angel abortions to Paramore in corpse paint, The Disease … will further disorient you with its bipolar lyrics. One moment, Chris Harrell imparts Yoda-like wisdom, the next he’s just screaming about how he’s going to crush the dreams of his enemies (the poor bastards).
