Because Queen Latifah likes her women classy, Shea Rose’s recent release is a taut mix of soul, rock and hip-hop. America’s Next Female Rapper, Berklee grad and Dorchester native, Rose calls her musical persona, “Lenny Kravitz meets Lauren Hill” and a little Betty Davis (“because she’s so hot”).
The CoverGirl’s got something more than the album cover reveals (figuratively, of course). A departure from last year’s funk rock LP, the her mixtape (a deal with Championship Vinyl?) Little Warrior is polished, saving old-school for the ’70s animal of an outfit. Verdict? Rose says it best . . .
