FOTOBOM: PSYLAB & CONSPIRATOR @ PARADISE

Boston’s own electronic quartet, Psylab opened for Conspirator with keyboard queen Eartha Harris, who was so freaking awesome at Paradise this past Saturday night. Welcome to a new sonic solar system; these two bands put on a top-notch show.

Psylab “Elevate” -- Live at The Paradise! October 1, 2011 by Psylab

Be sure to crank up your speakers and witness the reality-shattering godliness of Psylab’s newest album, Cardinal Alignment. The second track, which opens with a deep, shivering manipulation of that all-too-familiar quote from American Beauty, actually expresses how far-reaching their sound is, blasting us off into another galaxy:

Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much …  then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain. And I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my shitty little life.

Later in the night, the dynamic shredding duo of Marc Brownstein and Chris Michetti took the stage and blew me away, adding fuel to the already powerful level of sound. Seeing them work together with talented producer Aron Magner, Conspirator’s co-founder, and returning rager, Lotus’ Mike Greenfield on drums… left me speechless.

All I could do was relax and stop trying to take iPhone videos (well, the phone was knocked out of my hand twice.. GASP), stop trying to capture it, and just let all flow through me….
