Not to brag, but I’ve successfully fired more rockets than North Korea.
6th grade Tech. Was setting up my model rocket, Prof said it probably wouldn’t launch because of something I did “wrong.” He was wrong.
Sean: 1, Kim-Jong Un: 0. Swagger engaged.
The following artists were able to catch a glimpse of the exclusive CNN footage of the rocket launch last night.
White Denim (@whitedenimmusic), Hundred Visions (@hundredvisions) @ Brighton Music Hall: Experimental/garage rock Texas boys White Denim delve in the type of music that can cool you off after a long day, but without putting you to sleep. Their layered sounds can, and should, be appreciated wide-awake. So if I catch you “resting your eyes” again to White Denim, so help me god…
It was amazing to watch White Denim maintain a steady balance of blues, rock and jam-type qualities throughout the duration of their set, complete with reverb, noodling, solo duels and one of the sweetest, clearest voices we’ve ever heard courtesy of James Petralli. Good on White Denim, too, for holding the sold-out crowd’s attention even when the Bruins went into overtime and small groups gathered by the BMH’s TVs. A WIN FOR BOSTON IS A WIN FOR WHITE DENIM.
Reptar (@reptarathens), Quiet Hooves (facebook.com/quiethooves), The Dirty Dishes (@dirtydishes_) @ Great Scott: Not only did bubbly Athens, GA rockers name their band after a Rugrats reference, but they also have a totally rad Windows 3 page as their band website. Oh, and they’re also, like, y’know, a good band. Should probably mention that, too.
Darryl Hall (@LFDHcom) ft. Sharon Jones (@SharonLJones) @ House of Blues: This time, we’re not coming back for Oates. Darryl Hall strutted (not really) into HoB last night, proving himself to be a great solo act without his (once) mustached partner in crime. While we’re on the subject, a friend of mine has a running theory that any movie/TV show featuring “You Make My Dreams Come True” is good. I’d say that statement is 90% correct; I’ll leave you to do your own research.
