Psych-rockers head to Cambridge tonight with up-and-comers DIIV.
Hailing all the way from New Zealand in support of their self-titled debut album, lo-fi psych-rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra (UMO) are headlining a gig tonight at T.T. the Bear’s Place, kicking off a summer sure to be chock-full of indie rolling through town. UMO exploded onto the scene early last year with their single Ffunny Ffrends (listen below) before getting quickly scooped up by indie label Fat Possum. Beach Fossils’s side project DIIV, a Brooklyn-based solo act garnering tons of recent coverage across the blogosphere, is slated to open for the band along with Toronto’s Doldrums.
