Bigoted neighborhood parade councils aside, everyone can agree that the whole point of a pride week is to be seen. Saying that any one group takes the “fun” thing too far with their radical “costumes” and “music” is to turn parades into organized walkathons with folks in gray jumpsuits. The Pride Idol Finale at the Revere Hotel has contestants belting out tunes for $500 cash and a chance to sing for Boston Pride at City Hall Plaza. Also: VIP ticket-holders get to meet punny Queen of Green Hedda Lettuce. And that’s without competing!
