PATRICK OUTSIDE GREAT SCOTT AT THE “BOSTON ACCENTS” FAREWELL PARTY, MONDAY 7.23.12
So, WFNX radio is essentially over.
Patrick: Yeah, I’m really sad because I’m from Lynn, where WFNX is based out of. To me, it’s been a Lynn institution for the past 30 years. I’m sad to see it go, but times are changing.
I understand Steve Mindich’s decision to sell.
I can tell the station’s been on some rough times. I think once the “The Sandbox” went away, the station started going downhill.
Where were you when you listened to the last airing Friday?
Patrick: For the last song, I was at work. I was trying to record it on my phone, but I didn’t have the time and was in a bad signal area. We get bad signals at the airport sometimes.
What about the bands who played tonight?
Patrick: I saw Earthquake Party, they were good. Before them, Fat Creeps were good also. I can’t make the other two nights of the “Boston Accents” farewell party, though.
