MARES OF THRACE @ O’BRIEN’S PUB

CL_MaresOfTrace

The ancient Thracians were a semi-tribal people of Southeastern Europe, large in number but considered primitive by their Greek neighbors. Theirs was a land almost perpetually under someone else’s rule, be it Roman or Germanic. They also had horses. We tell you this because the sludgy noise that metal duo Mares of Thrace will be rocking at O’Brien’s tonight speaks to the kind of frustration that you’d expect from an ancient society more or less relegated to “also-Hellenistic” status. It also speaks to chopping off the heads of thine enemies in mounted combat. Hence the horsies.
