We like to imagine that Evan Kenney, Taylor Sullivan, Jesse Vuona, Steven Lord and Austin Bousley—aka Thunderbloods—wanted to get out. That the former Bodega Girls, Read Yellow and Kingsley Flood members were just saving up enough cash to buy that MacGuffin dispensary down in the Caribbean, when someone “pulled them back in”—so to speak—to the fast-paced, not-actually-illicit life of anthemic blues rock. We also like to imagine they’ve never seen Carlito’s Way. Regardless, we won’t need our imaginations for the gang’s first gig at Radio. ‘Cause, you know, “reality” and all.
