One of the better side effects of musical festivals is their tendency to pipe eager-to-play band overflow toward local venues in the days both pre and post-fest. In a perfect world, these “shadow festivals” would, in turn, spawn shadow-shadow festivals, then shadow-shadow-shadow festivals and so on until every citizen had a personal synth-jazz band in their bathroom. In an imperfect world, these two respective country and Americana bands play a post-Newport Folk gig, tonight. Go ahead and modify your definition of “imperfect” as you see fit.
