Last time we wrote about semi-throwback artists The Brian Jonestown Massacre and their whole nu-sixties/neo-psychedelica/cultist pun… thing, it was a passing reference contrasting the band to sonic frenemies The Dandy Warhols. ‘Course, by “passing reference” we mean “an argument that BJM were the ‘evil twin’ band,” and by “contrasting” we mean “implying that Anton Newcombe is a murderer.” Now, without changing it, we can add two qualifiers to that assessment. First, those mirror-universe baddies will be at Royale tonight. Second, murderers make great music. Killer, even.
