TOADIES + HELMET @ PARADISE ROCK CLUB

CL_Toadies

They are Toadies, alt-rocking Texans best known for their ’95 grunge hit “Possum Kingdom.” Behind them, Helmet, post-rock pioneers and apparent Ezra Pound fans (judging by their latest’s poem-inspired title, Seeing Eye Dog). When they activate their powers at Paradise Rock Club, they become the Wonder Sludge Twin … Band … Two Groups That Playing A Tour Together, We Guess. Wonder Sludge Powers, activate! Shape of … mid-’90s grunge-throwback, predictably! Form of … hyper-literate post-rock, as you could have guessed! It’s, uh, more impressive in person. Imagine some lasers and a monkey in tights.
