It’s hard to imagine a time when fuzz distortion and feedback weren’t a vital part of alternative music. It’s equally hard to imagine these legendary Glaswegian proto-shoegazers playing one o’ those “classic alt” nostalgia-sets tonight, especially considering the group’s penchant for quick, rowdy gigs back in the day. But hey, times change, and now the white noise championed by Jim and William Reid is-wait, what? They’re done? Already? And they broke the stage? All of it? Well. Only thing you can say at a time like this is “slash homicidal automaton.” And fuck.
