Not to kick summer when it’s down (in the celestial, orbiting of the Earth sense), but we can’t really get into metal with all these birds and flowers and shit. As you can imagine, summer doesn’t exactly cast the right pallor over an extended pig-squeal session. That’s why the timing couldn’t be better for the choleric prog-esque sludge of Weedeater to float, miasma-like, under the doorways of the Middle East Downstairs. Sure, the doom-portending vocals of “Dixie” Collins aren’t exactly going to send fowl south for the winter. Just, you know, turn ‘em into skeletons. It’s a start.
