Peanut butter and jelly. Shake, immediately followed by bake. Metaphorical peas and the figurative pods that love them. Derrida and postmodernism can take a seat on this one, because we’re still all about duos and binaries. At least as long as Wye Oak (otherwise known as Baltimore’s Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack) are ping-ponging their blend of expansive, explosive indie rock at Brighton Music Hall tonight. After that … all bets are off. Give us enough gel and we will rock some insightful-ass philosopher-hair, dammit. You just mark our semiotic sound-symbols.
