Ignore Paul Dano, Zooey Deschanel, and Garden State; it’s really with Truman Capote and Breakfast at Tiffany’s—specifically its cafe society heroine—where you’ll find the gold standard for manic pixie dream girls. (She was def into The Shins first.) On the totes-opposite end of the spectrum, at T.T. the Bear’s Place tonight you’ll discover Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs. Less twee, more twang. Also: more pickin’, pluckin’, sawdustin’, and drum-bustin’. You say they’ve got nothing in common, but … naw you’re right. We’ll stick with “nothing.”
