IN THE TUBES: DAVID BOWIE “WHERE ARE WE NOW?”

Where Are We Now

For ten long years we have been pining for this day, sitting at home watching endless reruns of Labyrinth clad in lighting bolt face paint … THE RETURN OF THE THIN WHITE DUKE! That’s right.

In the wee hours of Tuesday, January 8, Bowie’s eccentric video “Where Are We Now?” from his highly anticipated album, The Next Day, dropped into the hands of the cyber gods. Now, before all of you existentialist hipsters get your skinnies in a bundle trying to decipher the albums abstract cover art, or the unsettling human head puppet video, let’s all ask ourselves this question:

Is anyone actually fucking surprised?

Bowie, the man of glam, is notorious for this eclectic, aesthetically innovative, and absolutely mind-fucking stuff, so who are we to question his musical madness? The album’s set to drop March 12, so your brain will have plenty of time to absorb the genius of this haunting ballad before its eggs are scrambled again.

One Response to IN THE TUBES: DAVID BOWIE “WHERE ARE WE NOW?”

  1. “Where Are We Now” is cryptic. Is he literally showing us the bottle is empty?
