The energy drink that inspired a man to jump from outer space, propels people to dive off cliffs, and taught Peter Pan how to fly, Red Bull, is back with another year of a DJ Competition so intense it will have you performing death-defying feats on the dance floor:
The Date: Friday, January 18 at Brighton Music Hall
The Competitors: Brek.One, Frank White, Braun Draper, DJ Layzeeboy, and DJ Supreme One. Read Together’s rundown of each competitor here.

Holy. Shit. This is going to get insane.
DJing techniques like track selection, creativity, mixing skills, and stage presence will also factor into the equation—but most importantly: Crowd Reaction. Which means the harder you party for the 15 minutes your boy’s behind the decks, the better his chance to advance and hopefully bring the National Thre3Style Championship home to Boston. This is no laughing matter, as Thre3Style Champs have gained hat-tips from some of the most famous DJs in the world—like A-Track.
Let’s hope these guys have enough skill to move between three genres in 15 minutes, because that’s also part of the rules: “Anything goes – from house anthems to old school hip hop to Top 40 remixes.” God knows I’d like to see someone transition from Modeselektor into Flo Rida. That’s the stuff party-rocking DREAMS are made of.
