The Boston Comics Roundtable strikes again with their newest anthology Hellbound 2, full of truly horrible—good horrible, not college-themed advice animals horrible—comics.
From a surrealist portrait of the existential beast under the floorboards to a doll that convinces people to commit suicide, this anthology is packed with weird, creative, and sometimes downright disgusting cartoons and comics.
The 104-page hardcover collection containing the work of 22 local artists is handmade and hand-printed. Something about that makes the anthology creepier, like the minimal production bringing you closer to the batshit minds that came up with these comics … no use dwelling too long on that thought, I’m already going to be dreaming about evil nurses and swarms of birds that kill your dog. Great.
Hellbound 2 will be released just in time for the Boston Comic-Con—The Boston Comics Roundtable will have a booth set up in the Artist Alley with copies of the anthology and artists popping in and out. And if you feel like you can compete with the Hellbound 2 artists, the Roundtable is already accepting submissions for Hellbound 3.
