We’re pretty sure you didn’t vote today. We know that because of exit polls, statistics, and other nonsense that you probably care nil about, or at least paid no attention to. We don’t resent you though. Obviously, you had a damn good reason for neglecting your civic responsibility. Here are the most reasonable copouts that we’ve heard and imagined all day:

Losing sucks, especially the loss that ends a season. The long off-season hasn’t even started yet, and next season seems eons away. But that doesn’t excuse the flurry of racist Tweets that cropped up after Caps right winger Joel Ward ended the Bruins’ season in OT in Game 7…
Whoever these Tweeters are, they’re not hockey fans. The NHL promotes good sportsmanship most among the Big 4 – it’s why opposing teams all line up and shake hands after the game.
These people are just idiots. Racist, classless, idiots.
