FAVORITE FRESHMAN: Not to confuse them with actual freshman…..JK.
With the two tracks [they have] and the shows they’ve been putting on, Vundabar has shown they have a lot of potential.

I would describe their sound as pretty straightforward rock, but at times they have punk, pop, and jazz influences.

Keep an eye out for these boys, a full-length should be coming out soon!

FAVORITE LOCAL MUSICIAN: CreaturoS. Enough said…
But really, what’s not to love about these psychedelic garage rockers? Their loud, fun, danceable, and there’s even a flute in one of their songs (“Charlie Brown”). Their album Swampp-Thingg takes you through a noisy fuzz rock mind-expanding journey that you don’t want to end!

FAVORITE RESIDENT: Fantastic Liars have started a residency over at Radio in Somerville on the first Wednesday of every month. When these boys put on a show, it’s sure to be a most excellent time. Boogie down on the dance floor with their mix of saxtastic indie folk/doo-wop rock.

FAVORITE LIVE SHOW: I think a lot of people are with me and have to say that cool underground basement concert, for sure!

MOST LIKELY TO BLOW UP: Kid Mountain’s album has been on repeat for me the past couple of weeks.

Their sing-along-able, jangly guitar-filled, warming tunes make me forget it’s still cold outside. With such a wondrous recorded album, you’re probably wondering whether they can deliver it live, right? Why, yes they can! The crowd always responds to their transcendent live presence by singing and dancing along. I see big things for this group.

BOSTON ON BOSTON: ELLIE MOLITOR | ALLSTON PUDDING

FAVORITE FRESHMAN: FINS. “Baby in Blue” is incredible,

and even more so because these dudes are still in high school.

FAVORITE LOCAL MUSICIAN: Krill. They operate as a single entity more so than any other band in the world.

FAVORITE NEW RELEASE: Fat History Month‘s Bad History Month.

I don’t really want to tarnish this with words, so just go listen: and then buy it, so you can listen to it forever, wherever you go.

FAVORITE MEMORY FROM BOSTON SCENE: Shamelessly, I’ve got to pick Allston Pudding’s 2012/13 New Years Eve pizza party over at Reginas. It was the first time I saw Boytoy play, The Migs and CreaturoS both absolutely slayed as always, and You Can Be A Wesley brought it all home at midnight -- all whilst eating lots of pizza and accidentally drinking the wine they had on display.
