Other than a rather tepid review of Ninja Assassin, long-haul Digster Marty Caballero has pretty much stuck to his contractual stipulation that he doesn’t have to give two shits about anything that doesn’t end in “-ip hop.” And yet, if you root on through the archives, you’ll find Marty’s lent his True Journalist stamp of approval for Allston basement blues crew Big East. Why is that? Because Big East is bitchin’, that’s why. Catch twang-heavy harmoni-rock as part of the 7th Annual Berfest at O’Brien’s. For the uninitiated, Berfest is the yearly scene shoutout to birthday gals Ber and Foz, whose day of renewal draws ever nearer.
