With deceptively deep ditties plucked from their air like audible math class doodles, Rogers and Weiss work in the realm of the industriously mischievous, showering their audiences with creative whimsy tied up in red tortoiseshell frames and a vintage sundress. FORT POINT RECORDINGS SHOWCASE @ MIDDLE EAST UPSTAIRS

A new Boston-based record label is a cause for celebration. A new kickass Boston-based record label is a reason to tell you to go and support the shit out of it. They call themselves Fort Point Recordings and with a roster than already includes Viva Viva, In Like Lions, Banditas and Endless Wave they’re already at the finish line. The specialist thing is that while each group is different they all have one thing in common: They’re all quite good. And they are on the same label, so make that two things. [472 Mass.
