OUR TOWN AT NAVE GALLERY

Relax. The Our Town exhibit premiering at Nave Gallery has absolutely fuck-all to do with Thornton Wilder’s wistful metanarrative paean to the rapidly eroding New England small towns of his youth. You may continue with not giving a shit about the rapidly eroding New England small towns of Wilder’s youth. A modern New England city that you should be looking into, however, would be Somerville, the titular “Town” that the exhibit is facetiously referring to and the subject of various artists’ photos, prints and paintings. Boo hoo, Grover’s Corners. Somerville has a castle, a couple forts and a bowling alley that serves pizza and beer. [155 Powderhouse Blvd., Somerville. 617.625.4823. reception 6pm-8pm. navegallery.org]
